The Simcoe County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society has an extensive collection of holdings that can be a valuable tool for researchers. The collection is housed in the Downtown Branch of the Barrie Public Library. Please note, in November 2014, the location of the collection within the library was changed and is now situated on open shelves situated just east (right) of the volunteer office. At the same time, the library’s local history collection was also moved and is situated adjacent to the genealogical collection. All materials must be examined in the library and can be accessed during regular library hours. Through the library’s Interlibrary Loan Service, items not available locally may often be borrowed from other libraries, including the Archives of Ontario. Microfilm and microfiche reader/printers are available.
