History:
A date board on the church indicates it was opened in 1868. The earliest recorded death was that of John Poole on Dec. 7, 1884 ae 67 years.
“In 1870, land was purchased from Mr. Colberry to build a church. Blocks and planks were used for seats. Later, the planks were used to make the seats that are still being used. A hand made pulpit was in use for many years. Services were held in this century church until 1976 when the new Baptist church was completed in the village {Edgar}. A manse was built in 1984 close to the new church.”
